SUMMER IN ITALY – STAYING COOL WITH JOAN’S LIMONCELLO

SUMMER IN ITALY – STAYING COOL WITH JOAN’S LIMONCELLO

Many of you know and listen to Teresa Tomeo on Catholic Connection radio on EWTN, and are familiar with our get-together every Wednesday at 9:40 am ET when I bring news and updates from Rome.

Teresa recently asked me to make a contribution to her website, T’s Italy, by sharing my recipe for limoncello, and would I make a video about making this celebrated Italian liquore?! T’s Italy is, as her site says, Travelling to Italy with Teresa in your Pocket as your personal travel consultant.

The latest edition is dedicated to Lovely Lakes and Limoncello. There I share my limoncello recipe and my video!

Enjoy!   Cheers! Salute!

GREETINGS FROM JOAN’S HOME IN JOAN’S ROME!

GREETINGS FROM JOAN’S HOME IN JOAN’S ROME!

A video lesson on how to make limoncello at home. I also posted this on Twitter and Facebook.

Took a while to download the video but here’s the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pZxxzEqRnMCRXgUQDZEhG2xLyntlCYjv/view

Start with the following ingredients and then follow my lead:

1 liter grain alcohol (only grain alcohol, no vodka, etc.!)

1 liter water

1 kilo (4 cups) sugar

8 very large, thick-rind lemons: use your potato peeler to take the zest of these lemons. Make sure you do not have the white part of the rind – that will make you limoncello bitter.

Now, do what I say in the video….
