AS THE SONG GOES, “LEAVIN’ ON A JET PLANE…”
This is a very brief post today and a heads up that I’ll be taking some days off, starting tomorrow when I fly to Chicago, so this page will be Joan’s Rome lite for some days.
The main focus of my time in the US (have not been there in 10 months!) will be the September 15-17 investiture weekend of the North Central Lieutenancy of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre that will take place in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I’ll be driving to Indiana on Thursday with some friends from River Forest, near Chicago, who are in the Order.
I am officially a member of the Rome lieutenancy as I was invested in Rome but I am now also an honorary member of the North Central Lieutenancy composed of six Midwest states – Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan and Kentucky. These investiture weekends are always very special religious occasions but also times to renew wonderful friendships.
I’ve also been in touch with family, of course, and hope to see a number of nieces and nephews and their little ones. I have not yet met the youngest, Evelyn (no.29) who turns one on September 30th.
I’ll post news updates and lots of photos on my Facebook page so stay tuned!
