Pope Francis departed Kazakhstan’s Nur-Sultan airport just before 5:20 pm local time this afternoon, and is due to arrive in Rome about 8 pm, Rome time. The nation’s president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was on hand to bid the Holy Father farewell.
This morning the Pope spoke to the Church’s bishops, clergy and religious men and women, and later made remarks at the concluding session of the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Concluding the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, on his 38th Apostolic Journey abroad, Pope Francis thanked those present for coming from so many different parts of the world.
“We have travelled this road together,” he said.
